I AM AN ENTREPRENEUR (Pty) Ltd ("IAAE", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect through this website and our programmes, how we use it, and how we comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
1. Who we are

2. What information we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us, or that is necessary to deliver our services. This includes:
- Mentor applications: your name, email, phone number, company and role, industry and years of experience, areas of expertise, availability, a short bio and an optional CV.
- Contact enquiries: your name, email, organisation and the message you send us.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address.
- Programme participation: business and contact details needed to assess, onboard and support entrepreneurs on our programmes.
- Technical data: basic, non-identifying usage data your browser sends when you visit the site.
3. Why we use it
We process your personal information to:
- Review mentor applications and match mentors with entrepreneurs.
- Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you ask for.
- Run and report on our development programmes and events.
- Send you the newsletter and relevant updates, where you have asked to receive them.
- Meet our legal, regulatory and contractual obligations.
We rely on your consent, the performance of a contract, our legitimate interests, or compliance with the law as the lawful basis for each of these purposes.
4. When we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:
- Programme partners and funders (for example FNB, Sanlam and SANParks) strictly to deliver a programme you have applied to or joined.
- Trusted service providers who help us operate, such as email, hosting and form providers, under appropriate confidentiality obligations.
- Regulators or authorities where the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. Mentor and programme records are retained for the duration of the relationship and a reasonable period afterwards; you can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
7. How we protect it
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to safeguard your information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit access to those who need it.
